Porch Swings

6/18/13 Well, summer is definitely right around the corner; we're so close to finishing school! When I think of summer, I think of hot days and cooler nights, where you just want to blast every fan and drink lemonade all day. I would love to stay out on the porch swing reading, and I have some porch swing inspiration to make you want to as well.

 Put two swings facing each other for a cooler way to seat guests.

 Decorate your porch swing with some words, or a cool pattern.

For an accent piece, paint the swing.

This porch swing almost looks like a chaise lounge with its legs chopped off.

I apologize for the weird guy napping in this picture, but I think this porch swing tops them all.

Fireplaces

6/14/13 Fireplaces keep the home warm, and, well, homey. I love walking home in the winter time to a fire in the fireplace. I'd especially love it if that fireplace looked like one of these...

 This fireplace is very modern looking.

 I think we all can agree that this one is cool.

 Of course, there is the traditional fancy fireplace.

                        

 Put a funky pattern in your fireplace for some popping color.

Paint your fireplace to draw some attention.

I've done one before in a post, but this fireplace is absolutely gorgeous.

Staircases

6/11/13 Staircases have so much versatility. They can be typical wood steps to anything, like stone, carpet, and glass. I brought together some photographs to make you step up your stair game.

 These stairs look pretty cool, but it would definitely be hard to move in furniture upstairs.

 I don't know what these kind of stairs are called, but they look cool.

 "Floating" staircases are becoming quite a trend as well.

I love the look of these. 

 There are plenty of DIY projects out on the internet to spruce up your own staircase.

 I thought that this pattern was too cute to miss.

Finally, we all know spiral staircases, but this red triangular edition makes a statement.

Vanities

6/7/13 You may be thinking that vanities are unnecessary pieces of junk for self-obsessed girls. The way I see it, vanities are a more regal way to use a mirror, complete with fancy stool. No matter what your opinion, you can't shake the fact (well, it still is an opinion, but still) that these vanities look mighty cute.

It is very easy to create a vanity of your own-just prop a mirror on a desk!

                                                                    

 Decorate your vanity with artwork, collectibles, and jewelry boxes.

 Use a full wall at your vanity for even more view.

 Vanities can also have plenty of storage.

 This vanity mirror closes down to convert it into a desk. There's also room for storage under the mirror.

Finally, you wouldn't be thinking "vanity" if you didn't imagine a luxurious one!

Kitchen Benches

6/6/13 I love, love, love having the seating at the kitchen table be a bench. It adds a fun twist to a boring arrangement, and I have scoured low and high (not really) for some beautiful photographs. 

 Benches at kitchen tables are becoming quite a trend.

This one seems very French to me.

 Not only does this pic have a bench, it also has a gallery wall--my favorite!

 If sitting on a bench sounds uncomfortable, you can slap on a pillow for cushion and style.

 Drag over a few stools for extra seating.

It's kind of blurry, but I adore the pops of blue against this fresh wood!

Backsplashes

6/4/13 For those of you who don't know, a backsplash is the area in a kitchen on the wall that is usually behind a stove. That little patch of kitchen doesn't have to be boring. Never, fear, for these trendy backsplashes are here for the rescue!

 I love this pattern.

 This green against the white is very fresh.

 Again, this pattern is really pretty, especially against the blue cabinets.

 I would love to cook in this kitchen.

 This accent wall is adorable and chic.

Finally, I love this little octopus--it's too cute!
